About Surrey Services for Seniors

Surrey ServicesSurrey’s community-based care model offers over 3,500 seniors each year access to a range of home-based health and supportive services, center-based wellness and social activities, and community-based services that further our mission to “help older adults to live in their homes with independence and dignity and to continue as active members of the community.”   Surrey continually monitors member needs to ensure delivery of an appropriate mix of services that help seniors remain healthy, independent and engaged in the community.

Hallmarks of the Surrey model include:

  • Engagement of older adults as volunteers in the provision of services. Our “neighbor-helping-neighbor” philosophy helps both the person providing service and the person helped
  • Availability of interrelated health, housing and transportation services in a “one-stop shopping” model
  • Access to a range of social, educational and wellness services that address varying capabilities and interests
  • Assistance and advocacy for seniors who must make changes to their financial, social, and other living arrangements
  • Community support to underwrite home care subsidies, meals in the Surrey Café, health and wellness programs, and much more, so that no-one is turned away due to an inability to pay.
