The Main Line Antiques Show is delighted to welcome back Hanes and Ruskin Antiques of Old Lyme Connecticut after an absence of several years. Joy Ruskin Hanes and Lee Hanes are professional antique dealers whose family has been in the business since 1946. On her side of the family, Joy is a 3rd generation antiques dealer and grew up enjoying antiques in her grandmother’s Boston shop. Lee had a similar interest beginning in his childhood. Needless to say, their love of antiques, among other things, brought them together 35 years ago.

Hanes and Ruskin Antiques specializes in high-style country American furniture, English ceramics, early metalware, needlework, samplers and paintings. Currently they do not have a shop but open their home to collectors by appointment. They also do more than 20 major shows a year. Joy does appraisals primarily for insurance or legal purposes. She is deeply committed to keeping her knowledge of antiques current and extensively researches every item she is asked to appraise. In addition Joy and Lee have served as docents in Connecticut museums and have contributed articles to antiques publications.

For The Main Line Antiques Show this October, Hanes and Ruskin will be bringing a fine 18th century walnut Philadelphia highboy as well as other furniture, paintings and ceramic items from their inventory.  Look for their booth at the Show!
