Introducing…the Chair of The Main Line Antiques Show, Nick Vandekar!  Nick is originally from England, the son and grandson of antiques dealers, and a former antiques dealer himself.  His sphere of interest as a dealer was primarily ceramics, Chinese furniture, garden statuary and ornaments.  Nick’s experience with the set-up and running of antiques shows began with the first Palm Beach Jewelry and Antiques Show.  After that, he was asked to help Surrey Services for Seniors as an auctioneer at the Spring Gala, and became part of the Surrey corps of volunteers.  According to Nick “As a Realtor I think the  make-up of a community is very important, and helping our senior citizens to age in place and remain in their homes helps our communities maintain a good balance.”

For the last 8 years, Nick has been involved in The Main Line Antiques Show in one capacity or another, and is now in his fourth year as Chair. Under Nick’s guidance, The Main Line Antiques Show has grown in stature and reputation. Today, we have many excellent dealers exhibiting, coming from all over the East Coast and Mid-West.  Says Nick “I have tried to make sure the mix of our dealers is balanced and that we have an interesting array of objects throughout the show so that anyone who is a collector can find items of interest and those who are looking for pieces to decorate a room can find interesting pieces.”

Come November, you will find Nick at the Show, tirelessly inspiring the volunteers and the dealers alike. Look for the man who doesn’t stop moving, and listen for that dry British humor!
