The Main Line Antiques Show Celebrates Sixth Year with 31 Distinguished Dealers, September 2011 Press Release

Berwyn, PA. The Main Line Antiques Show is celebrating its sixth year and will be held at the Radnor Valley Country Club in Villanova, PA November 11 through November 13. A growing number of distinguished dealers have been accepted into the show that will represent a superb selection of important antiques. This select, invited group of dealers will be presenting paintings, furniture, folk art, jewelry, ceramics of all types, metalwork, antique prints, carpets and textiles, silver, Staffordshire and more.

 

Show Chairman, Nick Vandekar, selected over thirty of the region’s finest dealers to participate in The Main Line Antiques Show. Mr. Vandekar, is known for his antiques expertise having come from a long line of antique dealers. The Vandekar family has been in the antiques business for over a hundred years, beginning when Nick’s grandfather opened a shop in London. Subsequent generations of Vanderkars have continued to set up shop in London, Los Angeles and now in NY.

 

According to Mr. Vandekar, he and his volunteer committee recognize a high level of interest growing among Philadelphia area residents and tourists. Although the show is a young one, it is aspiring to be one of the best in the Delaware Valley. Honorary Chairs are Mrs. S. Matthews V. Hamilton, Jr. and Mrs. J. Maxwell Moran. All proceeds benefit Surrey Services for Seniors. The Presenting Sponsor is The Radnor Hotel.

 

The show is open on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 to 5 pm and on Sunday, Nov. 13 from 11 to 5 pm. An Opening Night party, will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 from 5 to 9 pm. General admission is $12.
